Naturist travel writing is a small world with a large publicity budget behind it. Four things are worth knowing before you take any of it at face value — including some of what is cited on these pages.
WHO PAID FOR THE TRIP
A large share of the coverage is comped
Much of the French, German and Dutch blog writing about Euronat, Arnaoutchot, Bélézy, La Jenny and Riva Bella comes from France 4 Naturisme press trips, placed through Agence Hémisphère Sud for French writers and Ducasse & Schetter for German ones. The good blogs say so: Naked Wanderings discloses the arrangement for Arnaoutchot, Bélézy and CHM. Note also that Destination Clothes Free and Naked Wanderings are the same couple, so counting them as two sources counts one voice twice — and their France reviews display “updated 2025” over originals written between 2018 and 2021, with the real date only in the page's structured data.
WHAT ISN'T WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE
Three sites that rank well and should not be trusted
vagobond.substack.com ranks near the top for “Ciclonudista 2026” and is a Reuters wire repost dated 11 June 2006, about the third edition; its quotes are twenty years old. nakedwanderings.com's Cantarriján piece renders a 2026 footer but was published on 11 February 2022 — it is still the best English first-hand account of an AAPNC day, it just needs dating correctly. naturisme-tv.com is not editorial at all: every piece carries one pseudonymous byline belonging to a tourism-marketing consultant, wrapped in FAQ blocks, link-stuffing and “guide complet 2026” patterns, with paid partnerships published as articles. Useful for dates, never as a record.
SEARCH RESULTS ARE NOT EVIDENCE
Hijacked domains and one hoax
The English phrase “The Nudist's Paradise: Cap d'Agde” is spun across hijacked university and corporate subdomains — asu.edu, stanford.edu, umich.edu, ucla.edu, fortune.com. Every one now fails DNS or refuses the connection, and they still dominate English search results for the village. A Lyon listings site's “we tested randonue” piece is an April Fools hoax: published 1 April 2021, bylined “Pierre Qyrool”, set in a commune that does not exist. And a naturist video should only ever be linked at its original host — one mirror of a well-known Montalivet vlog sits inside link spam that references minors.
WHERE THE WRITING STILL IS
Live blogs, and the ones that stopped
Publishing through 2026: iledulevanthodie.fr (daily), naturisme.cat, arnb.fr — the only one that reports headcounts as a matter of routine — planetnude.co, pedalibre.org, almanaturista.pt, nusausoleil.fr, nudismo-naturismo.com and aanuma.org. Gone quiet: clubenaturistacentro.blogspot.com, whose day-by-day Portuguese diary ended in March 2024; solmadrid.wordpress.com, which now runs philosophy and no events; thenudeblogger.com; cs-languedoc.fr since April; and cantarrijan.com's own “El Viajero” since July 2025.
